Kindnesses 265-273

I gave cold medicine to my friend, because she's been sick for a while and the medication really worked for me. It included nighttime stuff, so she can get a good sleep.

I gave large Lego blocks that we aren't using anymore to a random stranger. I posted it on Freecycle and dropped them off.

I volunteered to bake muffins several times a week for J's school program. They have a program that gives free, healthy food to kids so they can learn better, and they need people to make muffins at home.

I volunteered to go into J's class twice a month to help with spelling. I will be starting this week.

Again on Freecycle I came across someone in need of two Halloween costumes for boys. I'm saving them until they fit E, so I gave them on loan for this year.

I gave a compliment to a woman who looked like she could use one. She had four children with her and had just spilled her coffee. I complimented her patience, which led to a conversation, which led to her laughing. I hope I made her day a bit better.

I woke up at an insane hour to look after one of J's friends. I do part-time daycare for him and he was dropped off at 5:30 am. Yes, this is very inconvenient but it meant that he could see his dad and go to hockey, and both parents could make it to work. And I had coffee. Of course I would do it again.

I donated some food to the local food drive.

I picked up some free books on Freecycle, with the intention of donating the appropriate levelled readers to J's school. I know that there were a lot of JK students to start this year in this area, and I'm pretty sure they don't have enough books, because they aren't taking them home for homework.
