Kindnesses 202-207

I gave a recipe to the guy who runs the local cafe at a resource centre. He was looking for a fail-safe oatmeal cookie recipe so I brought in mine, which happens to be gluten-free and better than the gluten ones. Not that I'm gung-ho on gluten-free, but it seems everyone has Celiac disease nowadays. He was very appreciative, and made them the same day. They were a hit with the customers. If I was a selfish person, I would keep my best recipes to myself...

I gave some old baby clothes to a neighbour. She was grateful, because it costs so much to outfit a single child for a season, and thene they need more new clothes.

I gave some change to the Children's Miracle Network. There wasn't a thank you. I think the , organizers of these fundraisers need to educate their volunteers on general social etiquette, because most don't acknowledge a donation. Or maybe they are just in a trance from standing there all day watching people go by.

I went to the gym and the change room was a mess. There were gym towels all over the place and shoes all over the floor, with no rhyme or reason. I put all the shoes together against the wall so no one would trip, and picked up all the towels for the laundry bin. No one noticed, I'm sure, but I felt better after doing it.

A woman on the bus was asking for directions, so I told her the best way to get where she was going. I had to tell her which other bus to take and which stop to get off at, and then how to walk from there.

I was very friendly on the bus to a man that people don't usually talk to. He's mentally disabled and most people tend to ignore him because he talks so much. He recognized me when he got on the bus so I talked with him for ten minutes, until we were at the terminal. It may be a small thing, but I'm sure it meant something to him.
