Kindnesses 208-214

I let a lady getting on the bus use my ten pass card for her bus ride. She was an older lady and seemed very confused looking for her change. She didn't have her money so I gave her one of my bus rides. She was very grateful, and I thought she was an extremely cute old lady until she asked if she could hold my toddler. I said no, and moved to the back of the bus with my boys.

I let an elderly man go before me in the grocery line. I had a cart full of food and two kids with me, but he only had a couple of things. He said no at first, but I insisted. He said thank you and was happy that someone was being nice to him. He had seemingly had a stroke, because the left side of his face was paralyzed, and didn't seem accustomed to people talking to him. Far be it for me to make assumptions, but it is a general rule that if someone looks different, people will skip being friendly to them.

I made a double layer carrot cake with coconut cream cheese icing for my husband, from scratch. I also made a ton of banana muffins, mostly for the kids.

I took the kids out to the new splash pad today, and brought along plenty of fruit. We shared some strawberries with other children there, after I made sure it was okay with their parents. None of the kids said thank you, but they really enjoyed the berries.

I printed out my best banana bread recipe for our new neighbours. I'd given them banana bread when they moved in and the mother asked for the recipe. Her sons were grateful, because they are going to bug her to make it now.

 I weed-whacked my other neighbour's lawn.

I took some muffins and cookies in for random bus drivers. The kids and I delivered them through the driver's windows while they were parked at the terminal.
