Kindnesses 220-226

I cut my next door neighbour's lawn. She didn't notice but that's okay.

I helped restock some books while we were at the library. It's important for the kids to see me helping out "just because," so I enlisted them too.

I baked more cookies for random bus drivers. They're all used to me doing this now, and most even say thank you. I still give cookies to the grumpy ones though, because they need cheering up the most. I will crack them and get a smile someday......

I went to a friend's baby shower. I can't afford to buy much right now, but I spent a lot of time perusing the consignment shops so I could get her a nice present in really good condition. Shopping used makes more sense to me, because I get a lot more for my money, which means she gets a lot more for her baby.

I donated food to the local food drive bin in the grocery store. It wasn't much but it was healthy. I put in some canned fruit and vegetables.

Although the construction workers on my street are taking way too long to fix our road and making life inconvenient by closing our park and blocking our sidewalk, I took pity on them because it was so hot outside. I took them a tray of ice water and some leftover cookies. They were surprised, because they've been doing the same job (the same job!) for two years and no one has done that. While I feel good about doing it, I also know the work isn't going to be finished if they are hospitalized for dehydration......

I collected some mail for a neighbour who has gone out of town for a week. I also put her papers in the recycling and cleaned up some garbage from her lawn (left by the construction workers).
